Restaurant Elke in Rheinfelden

Due to the Covid restrictions, the food took place in the motorhome in front of the restaurant. The service was friendly and always tried to meet the needs of the guests. Food and drink were brought to the mobile home. The food was excellent, thank you very much!

Food was very good. Very friendly service. Unfortunately, we didn't try the cake. The portions served were a bit too small for me. The prices are not low. From the terrace there is a beautiful view of the western Dinkelberg and the Swiss Jura.

After we met an old friend from Italy in Rheinfelden yesterday in the pouring rain, we were looking for a child-friendly café where our 1.5 year old daughter is welcome and where she had the opportunity to play so she wouldn't get bored when "the old ones" talk. So after a Google search we came across "Elke" in which it is advertised that the little guests are very welcome and that there is a "playroom" there. Arrived after 15 minutes by car, we first looked around. Unfortunately, we had to find out that the playroom existed, but was not in the vicinity of the guest room and that we could not leave our daughter there unintentionally, as the room was only accessible via stairs. So we took a few small toys out of the room with permission into the guest room so that the little one could do something. The waitress came over, let out a rather cold hello and put the cards in front of our noses. After we had found out that only food could be found on the menu, we asked for a drinks menu. In a rather snappy tone of her came "We don't have anything like that!". All right then. We ordered coffee and our friend wanted a decaffeinated latte macchiato. He got an espresso with a dash of milk. We ordered french fries for the child. Without a smile on my face I only heard "That can take a while!". We were guests for about 1 1/2 hours and during this time we were only looked at in an unfriendly manner (maybe also due to the fact that we had spoken English?) And despite empty cups nobody came by and asked if we would like anything else. At some point I waved the waitress over and we ordered something more. However, our friend was ignored. While running away I called to her that our friend would like something too, then she just grimaced and annoyed took the order. Friendliness or a little smile are a foreign word in this restaurant. By child-friendly we mean something else. It's good that this restaurant is just under 200km away from us and we don't have to go there anymore. I work in gastronomy myself, and no matter how bad the day goes, but attention and friendliness towards the guest are my top priority ... Because the customer is king!

Very good and delicious food and drinks! Staff is friendly and didn't have to wait long, even though the restaurant was full. Very nice location with a nice view, equipment a bit old but still very nice everything! Would have been happy to have some more vegetables in my main course.

One of the best outdoor places for excellent Brunch, Lunches, Donnerstag and not to forget the best in region, home made cakes 🍰 and an unusually friendly service in a friendly and stylist ambiance. Definitely worth the drive! You can bring your dog and have a great landscape with fields, forests, horses and wonderful walking and biking trails.

Salad and main course very good! Kitchen at its finest! Top location with great views! Staff a bit hectic. Long wait before paying. A recommendation!

Pleasant restaurant

Beautiful sun terrace with a view of the Black Forest and Jura. Delicious cakes and creative menus. Conclusion: highly recommended.
